   Smart Lens(Seheon Kim, Yingjun Quan, Sergej Korovov, Yuna Kim)  

A polymer based smart lens with changeable focal length is fabricated and evaluated. The focal length can be changed by actuating the SMA wires attached to the edge of the lenses. Applications may include controlling laser beam properties and smartphone microscopy.

 


   Morphing Wheel for Amphibious Vehicle(Young-Il Yoon, Yong-Chang Shin, Jae-Won Kim, Hyung-Il Kim)   

A bi-stable structure actuated by SMA wires can automatically switch between expansion and contraction states. This structure is then applied to an amphibious vehicle to be used as a morphing wheel.



 


   When Liquid Crystal Polymers Meet Piezoelectric ZnO(Li Chenzhe,Zhao Zhanzhan )   

A light induced ZnO/LCP thin film is fabricated with a novel procedure. The thin film structure with snap through behavior is then designed and tested.



 


   Property test of Morphing skin (Ho-jin Kim,Junhee Choi, Chul-Woo Park, Fengpei Yuan )  

The purpose of this design is to enhance the performance of the aircraft. The design of the morphing wing, fabricated using polymer based composites, decreases the wrinkles on the surface to reduce the drag force.



 


   Active Tube for Soft Robots (Fengpei Yuan, Haemin Lee,Sungmok Choi, Fengpei Yuan)   

The connection between the actuator and the tube for pneumatic soft robotics is an important issue that must be addressed. SMA attached to the tube is used to adjust the diameter of the tube in order to connect or detach from the pneumatic actuator.



 


   Soft Snail Robot(Min-Soo Kim, Changki Yoon, Gyu-Gang Jeong, Nam-Geuk Kim)   

A bi-stable structure is attached to the roof of the house in order to remove the stacked snow, preventing the house from breaking down without the aid of manpower.



 


   Snow Clearing System using Bi-stable Structure(Si-Ho Kim, Ji-Hyeon Song, Ki-Hwan Jang, Jin-Kyu Han)

   Origami Forceps for Minimally Invasive Surgery(Jin-Kyu Han,Sunpil Jung, Hyejeong Son, Jinshi Cui)  

SMA based origami forceps are designed for the possible application in the field of minimally invasive surgery.



 


   Piezoelectric Brake Wear System(Liu Hanyu, Kim Jaehyun, Ranvinder Singh, David Van Isacker)  

Piezoelectric sensor installed to a braking device for the development of a brake wear indication system is proposed.
